Friday already. I can't believe it. Did not get a chance to post this week very much. I believe the week went alright. I pretty much stayed to my daily points. Wednesday was weight in at WW meeting and I lost 2.2 LBS. So I've lost a total of 10.4 LBS in the five weeks I've been on WW. They took another point away though, so now I only have 24. I have been trying to exercise. I made it to the gym 2 times this week. Good for me! Also trying to take some walks. Does anyone who's doing WW know how you swap Exercise Points for Flex Points? I've looked on the online tools but cannot seem to find the answer.
Anyway, here comes the weekend (my hardest time). Hope to keep busy and not sit around too much eating or thinking about eating.

What a horrible day!! I think it was because I had 2 long meetings after work and didn't plan ahead. I need to be better about making sure I have good snacks on hand.

L: nothing. I had a frozen meal, but it was gross, so I didn't eat it.

new day
I went snack crazy yesterday... in the evening I had sun chips, chocolate covered almonds, humus with crackers, and cheese. I was over tiered and ate way too much! not pleased with my self... all this after eating heavily in the day. A good friend of mine, who is herself revamping how and what she eats, mentioned to me that a key in her strategy is to learn how to blow it and recover (rather than blow it and give up). I am trying to keep her positive voice in my head. In my head it translates to something like you blow it - it's OK, thats life. But you continue and your screwed. I feel screwed but am trying to act like its OK so I can move on and improve my ways.

I was too tired to post last night, and now I can't remember what I ate! I think I had a bagel, a blueberry muffin, and tomato soup, but that's all I can remember.
Today wasn't too good (those damn girl scouts!):
B: yogurt w/ granola and fruit, NF vanilla latte
S: 2 girl scout cookies (samoas) and a banana
L: yogurt and a granola bar
S: 2 more cookies (peanut butter)
D: grilled cheese sandwich and a few fries (carpos)
D: I'll probably have a couple more cookies. What was I thinking buying 3 boxes?! I have no will power!

Monday - Back On Track
Boy those weekend really do me in. It's a good thing I save my weekly points for them. I was away for the weekend. I tried to eat the right things but didn't always make the right choices-such as Costco combination pizza slice at 15.5 points! But boy was it good.
So Monday, I got back on track. 5 points for Breakfast, 6 points for lunch, 6 for dinner, and 7 for anytime (snacks & wine).
I tried one of the WW recipes, Beef Stuffed Cabbage, and it was pretty good. But I also tried another one, Baked Macaroni & Cheese, and thought it wasn't worth the effort-too dry.

monday madness
Just one of those days when things just don't go right. Breakfast should be a simple thing to make, but I know how to complicate things... I started by making eggs, but when I cracked them there was so much shell in the bowl that I could not use them - and they were my last two. Next I decided to have waffles, we don't have a toaster so I cook them under the broiler. I got distracted because I was trying to hurry up and get my things together, and forgot about them until I could smell the burning - when I opened the oven they were not just burnt, they had full on flames going!
Then I finally accepted that cooking was not happening and I headed out the door carrying the scent of my disaster.
B: 1/2 peanut butter and jelly on wheat and a banana

No exercise for me today, but Mark and I went to REI and Ikea, so I walked a lot. I know, that's pathetic.
Breakfast: nothing (woke up late and went straight to lunch)
Lunch: half roastbeef sandwich and salad (cranberries, walnuts, gorgonzola), NF vanilla latte
Dinner: chevy's - mark and I split a dish, so I had a few bites of a taco, half of a chicken enchilada, half of a beef enchilada, and half a coconut-pineapple margarita
Dessert: nothing yet, but I'll probably have a piece of chocolate

I dusted off my free weights this morning and did about 40 min of arm, leg and ab exercises. I'm feeling good!
My goals for this week are to do at least 30 min of something each day (M-F), drink lots of water and I am also going to get myself a scale so I can keep tabs on my progress.

today we had a wedding reception for my sister, so it was kind of a bad eating day.

Home alone
It has been interesting to observe my eating habits since Dan has been off on business. Though he does not mean to be, he is a bad influence, he is as skinny as can be and can eat anything. He eats large portions and full fat anything. He also sees eating as a a bit of a chore, many days he does not eat much until the evening when I am home.
I have not been eating too much at night but I have had some pretty rich dinners like mac and cheese. I also found my self at the bakery this week with two pastries, I took one to go after I realized what I ordered, then I did not eat it, so basically I bought myself some guilt. So, I am not perfect on my own but I am listening to my body more and drinking lots of water and eating more fruits and veggies. When I get my sweet tooth at night I have been enjoying yoplait whips in raspberry or a sugar free fudgesicle and then brush my teeth so that minty taste keeps me from wanting more (because it will taste gross!)

TGIF!
Bad, bad, bad me. I had some sugary "fruit" pastry for breakfast with a NF vanilla latte. An Eating Right frozen lasagna and a plum for lunch. One bite-size chocolate. Then went out for drinks with some coworkers, had a quesadilla, chips and salsa, and 4 drinks! (3 pina coladas and 1 margarita) . Fridays are rough for me. I'm so burnt out that pastries are what sound good for breakfast, then I go out for drinks!!
Can anyone tell me what a "healthier" drink option would be, as far as calories go?

Had a light breakfast 3.5 points. Went out for lunch and splurged on points, a wopping 10.5 (if I figured it out correctly). Then had a light 4 point dinner. Weighed in at WW meeting and loss 1.8 pounds. I was hoping for 2 pounds, but I got close. I was surprised when they told me that I now need to drop a point from my daily total, so instead of getting 26, I get 25.

snack: mini chocolate croissant (actually, I think that was yesterday, wierd)
dinner: a frozen mini pizza.
It's one of those days. Neither Mark or I feel like cooking, and I just haven't been motivated the past couple days to make the best choices, which is disappointing considering I have lost a few pounds and am seeing a visible difference, esp. in my face (double chin starting to shrink!). I think its cuz I'm still recovering from being sick, I just have no energy, so I'm hoping that once I'm feeling all better, I'll get back on top of it. I have to have a dress fitting in like a month, so I need to be good!

Hump Day by Dawn
hmmm, so I woke up, ate ceral, it was Jonny's ceral, so 6 pts, plus 2 pts for soymilk, 8 pts, eck, but then I had 2 pts of milk and coffee, and a slice of turkey which is like 1/2 a pt...the rest of the day, well I am going to lunch with coworkers, but I know how to stay on top, and then I have some veggies to eat later...feeling good, bothered by the night eating, but I am looking at it like a really freaking early breakfast..and yes, I went through a lot of points, but I used a small cup (2xs, which is better then filling a gigantic bowl) I am going to try and get some exercise in today and tomorrow at gym, then off to Maui with my mom on Friday. good news is she is healthy and likes to excercise, so I will continue and stay on plan...
then I ate good rest of day, had a handful of almonds, 4, and then some turkey and brought veggies to a meeting, then had a boca burger with squash and baked beans whole thing was 5 pts, if that..so I stayed low...I am doing good on not snacking endlessly or binge eating, which is huge for me.

So today was good!
Breakfast: Egg substitute with green onion (microwave) on 1 piece whole wheat toast with fat free cheese, and coffee with fat free milk - 3.5 points
Lunch: Low Fat Cheese Wedge, Non fat yogurt, 2 green olives -3 points
Snack: Quaker Mini Delights - 2 points
Dinner: Cheese Quesadilla & Vodka Squirt - 7 points
Took a 40 minute walk (long way) to local Restaurant/Bar and had 2 Rums and diet cokes. Then walked home (direct route - 20 minutes).
Hope I walked off those drinks! 4 points & at least three activity points.
If I calculated correctly. I still have 6.5 points left for today.
Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in at WW. My goal is to loose at least 2 pounds a week. I hope I can achieve this. I had a hard time this week so I'm not sure if I lost another 2 pounds.

I did ok today but I feel like a beast, I have lost weight but I just feel like a big sluggish beast. Ugh. I think that I need to get some exercise- beyond the speed walks and stairs. Breakfast was one egg, english muffin with penutbutter and a cutie. Lunch was a half of a cheese burger, hand full of fries and a salad (w/beats, asparagus, and nuts). Dinner will be a bowl of soup and a chicken breast.

my birthday!
I didn't really have breakfast today, just a couple bites of a bear claw from starbucks, and a NF grande vanilla latte. Then for lunch I had a half sandwich (turkey and cranberry) and salad (w/ cranberries, walnuts, cheese). Dinner was a grilled cheese sandwich and a handful of fries, with water. I needed something to calm my tummy/head. This wierd sickness is taking its toll.

Weekend
Ok,so the weekend did not go very good either. Saturday was alright, but I know I totally blew it on Sunday. We went to Disneyland and ended up having appitisers and a couple of drinks at the Rain Forest Cafe. I split the appitisers but they were totally not WW friendly, and neither was one of the drinks. The only thing I can hope for is that I got a lot of exercise walking and pushing my daughter around Disneyland in a wheelchair.

I'm finally back on my feet again after a bad migraine followed by the flu. I have been eating mostly soup and crackers, lots of tea and water. Last night I knew I was back when I scarfed down three pieces of pizza. I ate too much too fast.
Today I am down another pound (I was hopping for 2).
As today is my marathon day I have all my food planed out:
Breakfast: instant oatmeal and a small smoothie
Lunch: sm. turkey sandwich and a salad w/vinaigrette
Snack: apple and cheese
Dinner: burrito and plenty of coffee (black) and a glass of red wine
So much for my stick to it plan for todays food. After the stress of car troubles this morning I answered the call of starbucks - and broke my rule of not getting fancy drinks to go. I figure that I am less likely to over spend and over indulge if I force myself to actually sit down and enjoy my moneys worth. Stress does it for me - I get stressed and I throw all reason out the window. Oh and I had a package of madalines too.
This process of recording what I eat is so helpful. I know that I don't update every day but getting the guilt out of my head really helps me deal with my eating habits. Some days I feel like wow not as bad as I was feeling and others it is more like a wake up - ykes I really did consume all that food.
my only exercise today will be walking around campus with my giant backpack
Random info: someone told me to eat using smaller utensils and serving dishes in order to feel more satisfied with the amount that you eat.

Sunday
another wierd food day for me. Woke up and had a bowl of oatmeal (a new Quaker instant kind, all natural, whole wheats and oats and such, chunks of apple). Then a few hours later I had low-fat yogurt. Then Mark and I went to dinner for my birthday at Rocky Point Restaurant on Hwy 1. I pretty much didn't care about being healthy, unfortunately. I had a glass of white wine, salad, filet mignon, half of a baked potato (but really it should count as a whole potato because this thing was gigantic), cheesecake, and a cappucino.
My Saturday
wierd food day. Mark and I are still sick, so we slept in till pretty much lunch time. I had a bowl of cereal (frosted mini wheats). Then we went to zoccolis and split a ham sandwich, a juice squeeze (pomegranate lemonade, yummy) and a jamba juice. then we went home and took a nap, then went downtown to a show at kuumbwa. we were under the impression there would be dinner, but all they had there was salad and chili. I don't eat chili, so I had a few bites of salad, a piece of bread, and half a piece of ollalaberry pie. I also had a glass of white wine and a white russian.

Busy day, but still managed to go through my points for the day and take a few from my weekly. It's that darn night time munching that gets me every time. I even try to eat things with 0 or 1 points. It seems I'm just not satisfied.
Question-does anyone take diet pills in addition to counting points on WW? I've been thinking about looking into Alli. Has anyone used it or know anything about it?
Did not get to take a walk during lunch or go work out at the gym after work as planned. My daughter popped her knee out at school so I spend most of the day picking her up, setting in traffic, and in the urgent care.
I'm feeling kind of disappointed in myself. Hopefully the weekend will go better.

Thursday and Friday
well I'm pretty sick, stayed home from work today, and I really haven't had much of an appetite.
Thursday I had half a bowl of oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, 2 small pieces of cheese pizza, salad, lots of juice throughout the day, one bite-size piece of chocolate (my students gave me so much candy!)
Today (Friday) I had half a bowl of cereal, juice, a nectarine, half a can of fruit cocktail (but its the Eating Right brand), tea, for dinner I think we're gonna have some cheese tortellini, salad, and garlic bread, but I know I won't eat a lot. Oh, and I just had one piece of chocolate.

Valentine's Day
Counting the days backwards is definitely helping! I find that My most troubling time of day is in the evening. I am stressed from work, or tired, or lazy or bored. This way, if I have few points left from the night before I can manage myself better during the day. Its harder for me to save points than it is to use them wisely while at work. Although I haven't weighed-in in the past week, I feel lighter - there's a bit more room between my elbows and my waist.

Haven't had a chance to write for the last couple of days.
Went to a WW meeting Tuesday night-lost another 2 pounds. So thats 6lbs in two weeks. I hope to keep it up. I think the walking at lunch has helped, and diffently trying to stay with in my points. But I'm discoving that I seem to get the munchies in the evening a lot. I'm trying to keep on hand those low point snacks, but I confess I gave into eating some sour cream and cheddar Lays chips last night. Luckly I figured out the points before hand and saw that 15 chips were 4 points, so I only ate 15. But it was hard to put the bag away. I discovered some great sugar free puddings by Jello that are only 1 point. They taste great and come in terrific flavors.

OK, so I poked my head out when I woke up at 3am, but decided not to eat anything and went back to bed...woke up and had 1 c of kefir (2) and a 100 calorie english muffin (1) with some coffee and milk, not even 1, but will count it as such. I brought (1) turkey with carrotts, red pepper (0) and have string cheese (1) and beans and salsa and cabbage for my lunch (2) then hanging out with a friend later, but I have 18 points at my disposal, no gym, but I am super sore frm Mon/Tues and will walk at lunch. JULIE, ARE YOU DOWN??

chocoholic
I have had an obscene amount of chocolate in the last few days. Hot chocolate, mocha, chocolate bar,cookie... overindulging thursday through saturday. yuck. the worst part of it all was that I did not even appreciate it all. I am just sabotaging myself - so frustrating!
Over the weekend I had two full days of snowboarding which gave me plenty of exercise and a number of colorful bruises. Monday I kept up with my exercise with a 3 mile (fast) walk.
Today has been my chocolate recovery day. Breakfast was tea, yogurt with slivered almonds and cereal and a small apple. Lunch was a large bowl of berries, asian slaw, and cottage cheese. For dinner I had a small salad with 1 tbs. dressing, a small bowl of vegetable soup and a ww lasagna Florentine.
Tomorrow I my yoga class starts and I am so in need of it!

What is wrong with me?!
Maybe its the fact that I need to go grocery shopping, which I'm doing tomorrow, but I feel completely unmotivated to even care about what I'm eating. It's hard to get back in the groove after eating out all weekend. I'm also coming down with a cold, had to take a 2 hour nap after work, so that's probably adding to my laziness. Here's what I ate today:
NF double vanilla latte, blueberry/cheese danish thing, yogurt, spinach quiche, orange juice, 1 cookie (I had to, one of the kids made it for me), 2 bowls of cereal, a corndog, more orange juice. I'm addicted to orange juice.

Back On Track on Monday
Monday I got back on track and stayed within my 26 point range. And even took another walk/talk with Dawn at lunch. Today, Tuesday, I have done good so far. Didn't get to take a walk at lunch, but plan on taking one this evening. I did move around a lot at work as I was moving to another space. Lots of walking back and forth and moving around file cabinets, files, and stuff. Hope this all counts as I was pretty exhausted from it. Or maybe it just means I am really out of shape. Anyway, I will going to a WW meeting tonight and will weigh in. I hope I have lost a few more pounds, but I'm not hopeful because of my splurging on Sunday.
Terrific Tuesday
So, I did good last night, no wake ups, woo hoo...woke up, had a ww oatmeal (2), and coffee with soy (1) your right Julie, they are pretty gross, I would just about reccomend any ceral (hot or cold) over it. Remind me to chat with you on this over our next walk...then ate turkey (3) and veggies (2, there was butter in it) for lunch with diet lemonade, and feeling full, gonna go to another school, meeting, maybe take a walk, go to gym, I have a points worth of turkey jerky and crackers and string cheese (3 in total) for later snacks, plus my veggies...doing good, feeling motivated, loving the weather....
ok, so I didn't eat the crackers, but ate a veggie burger (1) AND thomas light (1) with baked beans (4) and veggies, that's my BBQ dinner, it was good, I am full, but I have 8 pts left..I should drink some milk,and then will also have some kettle popcorn later...yeah,I am back in control!

Sorry about that ladies, I had a moment (or a few) of weakness. I remembered something I heard at a WW meeting, where this woman started her "day" at dinner, and then had points for the next morning and lunchtime. I usually do better during the day, so this way, I can screw my WW day with dinner, and then stay within my points for breakfast and lunch. Does that make sense? I am going to try it for a week and see how it goes. Here was my most recent "day":

I'm back now
Hi all. I just got back in town from Tuscon (Tucson?) I started the weekend writing everything down, but then got busy, and lazy, and didn't keep up with it. But I really wasn't too bad, I don't think. I had dessert twice, but was good on dinner choices. I did have beers and margaritas throughout the weekend, but nothing crazy. It's nice to be home and have a kitchen to go to, rather than having to eat out every meal. That's so hard!
I am mood.
So, the ol' menstruation monster kicked in this weeked. Headache, moodiness, and cravings. I did well (I think) but did not write down. My WW partner ditched me, so with that and a migraine, I didn't go to my meeting. I don't know if I lost or gained. I don't have the energy to get motivated. I feel like poo.

good news, went on a lunch walk with Julie and going to the gym again tonight...
ok, so I went to the gym, then wel, before the gym I had a NF hot chocholate with some light whip (1) and then for dinner had a turkey bagel sandwich that I made, so that was 3 points, and some almonds 2, and 5 sour patch kids 1, so that puts me at 21...
I am re-joining WW, and get 26 points a day...which means I have 5 left, the thing is, it's hard to calculate my late night, and I am not sure if I had more then what I said. my goal is for last night to be the last, and with this blog, W, and the support of my friends and family to really make that change..
oh yeah, so I weighed in at 197...this is shameful to me, but maybe it will lead to a change

So Saturday went pretty good. I was on the go all day so didn't think about eating to much and tried to make good choices. Sunday was a a bust though. I hosted a brunch and even thought I planned the menu, the food was not WW friendly. I really did not eat too much as I was busy hosting and cooking, but unfortunetly I'm sure the drinks did me in as far as points. I don't even want to try and figure out what my points were for the day. I'm just assuming I went into my extra 35 quite a bit.

Friday
This post is for Friday, even though it's Saturday, as I didn't feel like getting back on the computer after work. In fact I just figured out my points for Friday on WW (I love their online food tracker). I did good most of the day, but had the munchies all evening. Skipped breakfast but had a cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk. Thanks to Dawn's great idea to walk/talk on the phone, I took a brisk walk during lunch and then had a 7 point Lean Cuisine meal before going back to work. For dinner I had left overs from the previous night's dining out meal. So dinner was a 1/4 serving prime rib and a half of a twice baked potato (I added a little fake butter spray to this as it appeared to be dry). I also had an 8 oz. Vodka Squirt (I know this sound weird, but I like diet squirt and it has 0 points and cranberry juice has 2 points). I was ok for a while and then the munchies set in. I felt like something sweet and really wanted to eat this 12 oz package of Almond Roca, but then I figured out that it would be 5 points so I decided to eat a 1 point WW Chocolate Carmel bar instead. As the night went on I wanted something else so I thought vegetables. I had a can of green beans with lemon pepper. This was good by the way and only 0.5 points when I figured it out on my WW calculator. Anyway, I started to want something else later but decided to go to bed instead. This morning when I figured out my points for Friday, I ended up with 7.5 remaining. I guess it was because I missed breakfast. I think I do better if I try to plan out my meals for the day and add my snacks in, then I can figure the points ahead of time and know what I have left for those late time munchies that hit me after work.

Friday! woo hoo and Sat. and Sun too
So, still feeling guilty from yesterday, what caused that binge? cause that's what it was....OK, so do I count the ceral and PB today? or what?? today, I ate a WW bagel with eggs (3) coffee (2), then someone offered to buy me sushi/bento box, I said no, yay dawn...then made my lunch (4) of beans, cheese, salsa with cabbage a little bit of corn, and tiny bit of healthy tortillaness...it was fine...yes I still want something sweet, but I am going to wait, tonight I am going to show with my friend Natasha, and will be good, just need to resist the temptations/urge afterwards.....walked during lunch with JUlie on phone!! yay, that was fun, and am going to do more exercise afterwork...ttyl

well, I had some kefir, which is like a high protien yogurt (2) then went to Indian again, I love that food, it was a buffet and I stayed at one plate, which is very good for me, like 1/c of rice ,and a little bit of everything else and like a whole piece of naan, I ate some dessert, rice pudding and honey bread...but proud of staying at 1 plate.. woke up, went on a walk/run, mainly walk for 30 minutes, I am exercising everyday, at least for a little bit, went out to lunch with my uncle, had salad with dressing on side 1, and then a turkey sandwich, only ate 1/2 of bread, cause it was on a roll, asked for it w/o cheese or mayo and the whole thing was proably 5, then had fro yo, peanut butter, not non fat, but I didn't eat it all..for dinner I will have my veggies, and either soup, or something protienny..gonna stick with it, may go on another bike ride...who knows... ok, so I had the veggies (1) and then a bagel with turkey (3) and then some dry ceral (2) and then some granola (4) and then some oatmeal (5) and then a granola bar (3) do we see a theme here? then I stopped...maybe I stayed pretty close to my points, I didn't get any candy when rommies went on a junk food run :)
I realize that when I feel fat, or eat something slighly fattening, ie-cookie, donut, etc, I have a tendency to way over eat, because I am feeling guilty, or who knows what..anyone have any suggestions on this???
OK, so I didn't exercise anymore afterwork, I then ate like ceral, and ceral, and then went out to dinner with friends, wasn't too bad, had like 3/4 of meal, it was Indian, veggies, with sauce and 1 piece of naan, not sure on the points...oh crap...then I ate two donuts and hot chocholate at like 12/1am....

well, I had some kefir, which is like a high protien yogurt (2) then went to Indian again, I love that food, it was a buffet and I stayed at one plate, which is very good for me, like 1/c of rice ,and a little bit of everything else and like a whole piece of naan, I ate some dessert, rice pudding and honey bread...but proud of staying at 1 plate.. Happy birthday to Me!
My internet connection has not been cooperating with me so I have been keeping track on a tiny piece of paper I keep in my pocket. And then I did my laundry and poof it disappeared! I did pretty well aside form a hand full of candy and then some chocolate on tuesday, more than my share of potatoes on wednesday and thursday I was good. Ohh, I found a good way to boost up my every day exercise efforts. I have been climbing the stairs in the library each day the first day I made it up to the 5th floor and yesterday I made it to the 7th- all with my too heavy back pack on like a giant weight!
Today I am planing on blowing it. I know this is not fitting for the whole life style change - of goods in moderation - but I m going to do it any way. I am going to the buttery for breakfast and then we are heading off snowboarding for the weekend. Lost of exercise this weekend! I will be going out to dinner tonight and I will be thinking carefully but I know I might go overboard but its my birthday so I will not get down on myself. I am going to focus more on the volume of food that I eat rather than thinking about all the other important factors. After today I will be back on track.
Exciting - I put on pants that were fresh out of the drier this morning and they have a little wiggle room at the thighs and the waist!!

Lots Of Eating Out On Thursday
Not too sure how I did on Thursday as I had a late breakfast from our cafeteria that I shared with a co-worker and then went out to dinner. I tried figuring out my points and don't think I went over, but not quite sure as I tried to find comparable items.
So breakfast was:
1 scrambled egg made with what I'm sure was butter or oil
About a 1/4 cup of hashbrowns
1 slice of toasted rye bread
1 slice of cooked bacon
No lunch - tried to save points for dinner

About a 1/4 serving of a 10 oz Prime Rib (I shared some of it and took the rest home)

Thursdays
QUESTIONS FOR ALL: Is the format of this blog working for people, and do you want to be emailed when people post comments?
I thought it was Friday today, and was very sad when I realized it wasn't :(
Anyways, for breakfast I was in a really non-healthy mood and had an apricot danish thingy. so bad, but so good. I also had the usual NF vanilla latte (not sugar free). Lunch was an Eating Right cheese ravioli frozen meal (there was probably 7 pieces of ravioli) and a berry tea drink thing. I had a handful of honey roasted peanuts and one piece of chocolate as a snack. For dinner I had a jack cheese quesadilla on a whole wheat w/ flax flatbread, a whole mango, and orange juice. I think I want a bowl of cereal now.
I'm going out of town tomorrow so I won't be able to post till probably Monday, but I'll write down what I eat while I'm gone.

Discoveries on Thursday Throw-up Day
So, today I had a bit of an emotional break-down (as I am known to have), and I always assumed I had an emotional eating problem, but never actually observed it in action until today.
I was able to curb it nicely with a string cheese and a second cup of coffee (not together)
Food does make me feel better. I like cooking it, eating it, talking about it, exploring new things. Its hard for me to think of food I don't like. I think I would like to try and be more selective in what I eat. Not necessarily diet-wise, but when I go out to dinner or indulge, I chose the cream of the crop (but nothing creamy), foods deserving of my taste and the health of my body.

yeah, no snacking after dinner last night..feeling good...gotta stick with it, very often I do a fwe great days then kill it all...OK, so cup of ceral, cup of soy milk (3), coffee with cup of NF milk(3) for lunch I have crackers (2), veggies (0) 2 small pieces of curried salmon I made (3) 2 slices of turkey (1) and string cheese (1) I made my lunch..then I am going to go and walk fo r30-45 minutes since I didn't make it this morning, but that will satisfy my working out every 40 hours, and tonight going to gym, and then out to FC with my friend Shelly, as long as I stick with salad, and healthy soup, 1 brownie, I should be fine..it's when I go overboard...tbc

FROM lUCKY'S, 9there are the chochlate ones, carrot cake, plain cake, bannana, blueberry) A LITTLE OVERPRICED, NOT THAT BIG, BUT THEY ARE ONLY 1 PT...HAVEN'T TRIED THEM ALL YET, but the cinnamon one is not bad...3 of them, and much better then those mini muffins that are at meetings and like 190 cal, etc...should we share shopping list for ideas? cause I got mad ones...
now, I just went crazy rest of day, ate some lf whip cream? what?? (1) then was really hungry, even though I had dinner plans, I had ceral (3) with soy milk (1) and then ceral, then some PB, geez, dawn, when you get the snacks....then, at fresh choice I had salad with veggies (1) and then a little soup, but not really enough to count, OK, so I was fine, but crap, then I had 1//2 sweet potatoe (points anyone? I think 3-4)and then 2 slices of banana bread, they were small, and then another bread, and a 1/2 brownie (entire brownie is 3) and some vanilla soft serve , crap, then I wanted Reese fastbreak, but I had 1 reeses, and tapioca (SF, 1 pt) with a little whip..then I stopped...had tea...and was done...til I work up in the middle of the night, and had more ceral and more PB>.....girls....HELP ME..

For Wednesday, But It's Thursday
My first weigh in after being on WW for one week. I lost 4.6 LBS. Hurray for me!!!

I had one packet of raisin instant oatmeal for breakfast with a cup of orange juice. I also had a medium NF vanilla latte. Yogurt for a snack. Nachos for lunch (I didn't eat the whole thing) and water. A Tiger's Milk bar for snack. A bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats with blueberries for "dinner". That's all so far. I've been in a real snacky mode all week, so I'm probably going to have a little something else soon. Maybe some mango. That's random.
Ash Wednesday
I went to the gym AGAIN!
Going to the gym at night before bed makes Rosie hungry. By the time I get to work the next morning, I am like a hungry monster ("\(.:..:.)/")
I had a bag of goldfish this morning. I didn't MEAN to. Yes I did.

yeah! Ok, 1 cup of ceral, (2) w/o milk, then coffee w/nf milk (1) then coffee with lf milk (2) then eggplant parm from TJ it's baked and only (3 pts) for entire thing, over bed of spinach and carrots, with a little extra NF cheese and 1 tb of lf ranch (1), went to a meeting where there were cookies, I brough veggies (0) and ate 1/4 of one (1) and then 1/2 of granola bar (1) then more coffee (2) then went to Cheesecake Factory, edame (1) and then chicken wrap (3-4) and then salad with beans (1) corn (1) chicken (3) dressing (4) and avo (3).I probably overestimated a few things, but better then underestimating...I wanted to get dessert, and didn't! wanted to buy something on way home and didn't! wanted to eat my roommates bread and sushi he offered and didn't! I am feeling really proud of all the things I have accomplished today, I am going to work out tomorrow AM for 30 minutes, run/walk since I need to do that at least once every 40 hours b/c of doc's orders...then will do gym tomorrow night and fresh choice, with good choices with friend Shelly tomorrow...oh yeah I had a rum and diet, (3) is that correct fellow W's?

I had half a NF vanilla latte for breakfast ( I forgot it at school and left on a fieldtrip. I was sad) and a blueberry muffin. Snack was a cup of coffee and a sugar cookie (damn bakery, forcing things down my throat!) Lunch was a Tiger's Milk bar and a small chicken salad. I went to Olitas for dinner and had one chicken taco, a few chips, and 2 margaritas. No real exercise, but walked a lot at the Mission, for about 2 hours.
Tuesday
For breakfast I had a cup of coffee with a little skin milk and my last WW instant oatmeal. I will not be getting those anymore as they have too much of a Saccharin taste. Can anyone suggest a better one?
For lunch I had a Lean Cuisine and a glass of skim milk.
After work... I finally made it to the gym! Almost didn't go, as work really sucked and all I felt like doing was going home and having a feel sorry for myself party. Anyway, I'm glad I stuck to my plan and went to exercise. I'm figuring I earned about 3 activity points. Not exactly sure how those figure into the WW plan as we are suppose to discuss that at my second meeting tomorrow. Can anyone shed some light on that? Back to the gym. Did 10 minutes of the treadmill @ 3.0 mph, 10 minutes of slow biking, 5 minutes of stair climbing (I hate stairs), then I did about 30 minutes of the weight machines. Those I did with mostly 10 lb weights as I have very little upper body strength and I have an old shoulder injury that I need to be careful of. I have not been to the gym in a long time even though I have had the membership for over a year. Anyway, I'm glad I decided to go to the gym.
After the gym, I came home and had a Cape Cod and some grapes.
For dinner I plan on having some tomato soup and a toasted cheese sandwich. I will probably have a snack of some kind later as I will still have points left.

So, I made it through Monday very well, I think! I stayed within my points and And AND I went to the gym! 30 minutes on the elliptical and I even broke a sweat (approx 250 calories). I slept very well.

Let's see, not too bad 1/2 cup of fiber ceral (0) kefir (3), coffee with milk subway sandwich (turkey, 5 pts) turkey jerkey (1-2) almonds (4) oatmeal (4) worked out! salmon (5) with salad (0) and low cal dressing, I sautated the salmon with onions and bell peppers, poured on a little soysauce and some other chili sauce, addred peas, carrots, cucumbers and it was OK, 1 cracker (0) fruit fiber bar from TJs (0, bc 60 cal with 6 g o f fiber, no fat) oh yeah veggies and string cheese earlier (1) took out a cup of dried ceral but didn't eat it..did pretty good..over and out

OK, so when Alyssa said she was going out of town, and I know we are all busy I thought I would share some of my knowledge on easy foods for when your working or traveling....
maybe I am telling everyone things they already know.hopefully not..but here are some healthy foods to grab on go.
to buy ahead of time:
.nf greek yogurt (2 pts 80 calories and 13 gr of protien, 0 fiber) they sell this at TJs, fiberone bar 2 pts for choch., pb is 3 and they have a new carmel, um south beach has 100 calorie bars that I think are 1-2 pts for a fun treat, thomas 100 cal english muffins are 1 pt, boca burgers, check calories, most are 1-2 pts, trader joes has a low fast string cheese, 60 calories, 1 pt, with decent amount of protien, um, what else, oh yeah TJ has a split pea organic canned soup for 1 pt a serving, with good fiber and protien, check out soups ladies, they are easy and can be healthy..also a good thing to get on the go, just stay away from the chowder...progresso has lots of 1 pt soups, or TJ has some of those to go ones that are great...
fast food:
believe it or not, KFC, get a chicken breast take off the skin it's 3 pts, stay away from the biscuit, that is 5 pts, corn is only 1 pt, so get chicken breast, 2 corns and that's 5 pts...
boston market, get either the roasted turkey (3) or chicken, they also have a good salad

oh yeah Taco Bell has al fresco, good idea to try those...
only eat 1/2 of what you order, get a soup ahead of time..stay away from the bread bowl and fries...
subway, pretty awesome, the turkey breast, roast beef, ham sandwichs are 5 pts, or the turkey wrap is 4 pts...it's on the jarrod meal..the grilled chicken and spinach (no dressing or croutons is only 2 pts!! stay away from tuna it is 12 pts for a 6 inch..

Let's see, I had 1 english muffin with 1 tsp of pb (2), 1/2 an organge (1) then 2/3 a fiber one bar (2) then water, plain yogurt (3) (I went to the dr. they advised I eat more of that...so you'll notice a new trend) and went to TJ's, bought healthy food, ate 2 tb of hummas (0 because of the type I got, read your labels ladies!!) lots of veggies, more yogurt, 2 pts, then a diet soda, went to gym did spin class, got yelled at by stupid teacher...came home had veggie burger (2) with english muffin (1) salad, some ceral (2) and kefir...(3), wheat thins... (2) and stopped...crap, either Saturday or Sunday night I woke up and ate a bunch of cookies and PB...I don't want to share this, cause it's embarresing, but maybe that will stop me) I really only did that 2 times this week, I am trying to quit all night eating....
oh yeah, so I went to Dr. they gave me blood test and she said it's great I work out 4 days a week, but I should do something active every day to lose weight and keep metabolism up, just wanted to share that with you all...I am feeling more inspired every day...there have been some tough situationjs the past few weeks and I am trying to work through them without food...it's quit an experience...at dr. I weighed in at 193, but then at home (late at night it was 198) so that's crazy...I will do a weigh in off. tomorrow

Sunday & Monday
Well Sunday did not go as planned. No breakfast, but my kids decided they wanted to go to Tommy's before the play Wicked. Tommy's is not a good place for me as I loved their chili cheese burgers and hot dogs. Decided on a chili cheese dog, but did not eat the bun. Hopefully I saved a few points there. Not exactly sure how many points that cost me, but found the points for a chili cheese dog on WW website and gave myself those. I refrained from having a cocktail or snack during the show. Had an early dinner, I made a ham cheese omelet & a piece of rye toast. Use one egg, lean ham, fat free cheese and fake butter spray. After dinner my sister called and invited me over. There was this incredible heath bar ice cream sunday with all the works. I gave in and had about 4 bites. Later I had a couple of Bloody Mary's. I ended up using all my points for the day and a few from the weekly amount I had not touched yet.
Today, Monday I got back on track a bit. Had a WW instant oatmeal for breakfast and a cup of coffee with 1/4 cup skim milk. For lunch I had a Lean Cuisine Panini, but only ate about 3/4's of it. For dinner I had a pork chop, spanish rice, and some grapes. For a snack I had a WW 1 point bar and a Cape Cod. I believe I will have another Cape Cod as I had a really bad day at work and need to relax. I stayed pretty much in my points for the day, but I think the extra drink will cost me a few from my weekly.
Oh, I don't believe I have stated my goal yet. My WW 10% goal is 20 lbs, but I really want to loose about 50 lbs. I have a long way to go, and I know I really need to start exercising. I want to try and make it to the gym at least 3 days a week and to walk on the days I don't make it there.
Sunday & Monday
I'm falling off the wagon! Help me! I still believe that just blogging each day had been a tremendous motivator, I'm much more aware of what I'm eating. But I have not managed to get my ass in gear as far as exercise goes. Mark is out of town for a week, and that means I'm lazy and eat mac & cheese for dinner. And next weekend I'm going to meet him in Tucson (he's with work) and we'll be eating out every meal, at fancy restaurants. That is gonna be tough!
Anyways, here's what I've had the past 2 days.
Sunday:
breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, 1 piece of sourdough toast, a cup of fruit, and coffee
lunch - 1 slice of cheese pizza and a beer
dinner - chicken noodle soup
Monday:
breakfast - a cheese danish (ouch!) and a NF double vanilla latte
lunch - yogurt and quiche
dinner - mac & cheese and a salad
I have a feeling I'll eat something before bed, probably a bowl of cereal or a rice cake with peanut butter and blueberries.

So, I found a scale at a house that I work at and my (friday) weight was 161.
Last spring I crept up to 180 which was my all time high. Realizing that I was so far off from my comfort zone I got motivated and made my way down to 151 by thanksgiving through walking, yoga and swimming, and then I stopped moving and stopped paying attention...
My goal is to loose 20 pounds by summer. I think that somewhere around 140 is an ideal for me.
This will bring my weekly goal to an average of 1-2 lbs per week which is a pretty healthy amount.

Not so good this weekend...
Saturday : I did not eat until like 4 pm and I was famished - had Indian food - one samosa and a vegetarian wrap. Then at about 7:30 I had a too big portion of pasta with sauce, small piece of bread with butter and 3 glasses of red wine. And then I got home (11pm) and I was still hungry from getting such a late start and had a hand full of cinnamon sugar pita chips and a lot of red grapes.
Sunday: breakfast- yogurt with 1 tbs. jam, almond slivers and 1/3 cup cereal. For lunch I made little roll ups of cheese and turkey and had an orange. Dinner was 2 slices of vegetable pizza and tea.
So, the food choices were not horrible but my timing was. It left me feeling fatigued and with that I got no exercise :(

OK, so I got to say, I have been good today, had a cup of oatmeal (1-2) and some fruit (1) when I went out to breakfast with family, will get something healthy to eat before game day...will let you all know how it goes...
ok, here's the update, so I then had 1 cup of veggie soup (2), 1 apple (2) some PB (4), salad (0) dressnig (3) shrimp (1) 2 pieces of sushi (3), went to JOnny's (roommate) parents house, and they had the whole spread, but I ate carrots and veggies (0) 5 chips (1), like a piece of chicken popcorn smaller then 1/2 my thumb, so that counts as 0, and she had donuts, but I stayed away, and all kinds of treats, I just ate 1 pb/chocholate ball,(3) and left before I ate anymore...let's see, then I went to Mary's house, ate a little bit of turkey, some doritos..(2) and 1 mikes ? and a tall NF latte (2) and then some oatmeal when I got home (3), cookies (eck, crap, 5) NF milk (3) and I think that's it...so I went over, but really it could of been worse....

Oh the weekend...I tend to eat to much on the weekend so I am a little worried as it is my first week on WW. Here's how I did;
Breakfast: One over easy egg cooked in fat free spray , 2 piece crisp bacon, 1 piece of rye toast with fat free spay, & an 8 oz glass of orange juice.
Lunch: A sandwich made on a whole wheat pita with a tiny bit of mayo (need to get the fat free kind ASAP), dijon mustard, 2 oz of lean ham, a piece of fat free american cheese, lettuce, tomato, and red onions.
Snack: Small grapefruit and an 8 oz glass of cranberry juice.
Dinner: Homemade vegetable noodle soup made with fat free chicken broth, lots of vegetables, and some angel hair pasta broken up in it.
Snack: Small grapefruit, 2 south beach peanut butter cookies, and a glass of wine.
After figuring out the points for the day, I had +1. I'm finding that I spending a lot of time figuring out how many points are for what, but it makes me think about what I am eating and trying to make better choices.
Today, may be harder as I am taking my kids out for lunch before we go to see Wicked. I have not eaten out since going on WW. I am going to take a couple of my WW books to help but I am a little worried.

Sunny Saturdat by DLK
wait, it's not sunny...so I woke up had some almonds (4) for 24, then 1/2 of dry ceral (2) then an english muffin (1) then egg (2), then 3 reeses harts (3) then some shrimp (2) then some salad dressing with salad and broccali (4) then 2 cookies (3) and some veggies (0) and 1/2 bar (1) and I have resisted some temptations but not all...tonight, I will have some protien and be a little over my points, because of the candies and cookies...but I am gonna stick with the plan...good news I weighed myself, I know we do it Mondays, but for some reason I weigh less on Fridays, and I am back down...I think it's bloating, I plan to lose for MOnday....any super bowl plans?? should we do a phone tree to keep us all on track?? I say bring some veggies to munch on at any super bowl party, and ladies remember that liquor/beer has got some points!! ttyl
update on Saturday, I ate 3/4 of a lean cuisine, and lots of frozen veggies....went to a friends, ate a few candies (WHat??) and then got attacked by the cookie monster, or rather I am the cookie monster...ate probably like 10 cookies....which is probably like 15 pts....eck...well I am gonna be better tomorrow, at least I am writing it down....accountability anyone??

I had a bowl of cereal this morning (Fiber One) and a cup of coffee. Then I had a NF double tall vanilla latte. I had 2 smallish pieces of pepporoni pizza, and a piece of angel food cake (it was a bday celebration). I haven't had dinner yet, but I'm not that hungry, so I'll probably just have a bowl of tomato soup, but I'll repost if that changes :)
Question for you all... as we get more "members", there will be several posts a day. Should I look into revamping the site so that its more organized, or is it fine the way it is? Just wondering.

Friday by Dawn, some good, bad and ugly..
ok ladies, let's see, so I went back to my conference, and they had all the pastries, etc..I didn't eat any, not one...kudos to me...ok, I had some oatmeal with flax seed, coffee with nf milk (3pts) then what else..1/2 apple (1) then there was lunch, it was pork, so I had some salad (0) with olive oil (it's good to get it in 1 tsp = 1 pt, so 3 pt) and then some polenta, which was wierd...not sure on the points..and 3/4 a roll with butter (4 +/-) .then they had pie, I didn't get one, just took a bit of a friends, but then, oh no, my friend at the next class brought in some chips in salasa, well I had about 5 (1) and a mini cup cake, not sure, let's say 3, but crap, I ate that pie I resisted earlier...and some candy again..eck! but I really did stop myself thinking, I am doing this with a team...then had some veggies, chicken (2) went rock climbing, I made it to the top a few times!! and went out to japanese with friends, only had some soba, but mostly ate the broth, and a few noodles, 1/2 cup of chicken terriky and inari, the tofu stuff, and 2 of my friends sushi (3) so I really wasn't that bad, oh wait, I had a diet coke with vodka..I know sounds sick, but I like it, rum gave me a headache, I put cheeries and limes in it...then I really wanted a cookie, stopped to get one, got back in car, didn't buy it, but went home and had a little bit of ceral and a reeses cup, that's it..went to bed...I think I did OK...the points are a little tougher when we got out to eat, but the main thing is to stick with lots of veggies, avoid funky sauces, etc....

Friday
pretty good today, for breakfast I had a whole wheat bagel with minimal creamcheese, and I didn't eat the whole thing, and a NF 1-pump double vanilla latte (is there an easier way to put that?) Lunch was vitamin water and quiche (frozen, cheese with spinach, about 4-in. diamater circle). Then after work, I was in the staff room, and this big chocolate chip cookie was staring me in the face. I stared back for a good 10 minutes, then ate my yogurt instead. So proud of myself! Before starting this blog, I for sure would have scarfed the cookie down. After work some coworkers and I went to Palapas. I had 3 drinks (Lahaina Lei, no clue what was in it but it was yummy!) I also had shrimp cocktail, only ate about 5 shrimp. Just had a small cheeseburger with a handful of fries and water for dinner.
Nothing like being drunk by 5 and hungover by 9! Yay for Fridays!

I am curious what my daily food intake would be as calculated in ww points. I don't think that I could seriously join up and attend meetings with my schedule as it is right now but maybe I could adopt the system. Is it complicated?
I did not get a full on walk in today, just to the park and back about 30 min total and not really enough to get a sweat on. I think that exercise is the make it or brake it part of my weight loss. I soo want to lose the weight but I find it so hard to get myself moving - I would like to blame it on the cold windy weather or maybe my new birth control pills but whats the point, I still have to deal with it.
I did ok on food today - I could have had less carbs.
Breakfast: cottage cheese and pineapple. morning snack: 3 crackers with peanut butter and a yogurt. Lunch: sm. turkey sandwich, goldfish crackers and an orange. Dinner: bowl of pasta with turkey and veggy tomato sauce. I still want more of it but I am trading it in for a glass of wine when I get home. Oh, and a large popsicle too.
Tomorrow night is going to be a tough one - a birthday bbq with plenty of food and drink to tempt me.

Well my first day went pretty well. I ended up with +3.5 points. Breakfast: WW Instant Oatmeal & coffee with skim milk. Lunch: Cup of Chicken noodle soup & WW Prezel Thins. Afternoon Snack: Jicama slices. Dinner: Lean Cuisine & a glass of wine. Evening Snack: Handful of Grapes & (opps) another glass of wine. Did not get a chance to walk, unless walking around Costco for an hour shopping counts. Hope to get in a better walk today.
